Idea : Falling behind in school can have lige-long effects,an it's increasingly common in Latino communities.


 Sara, Alexandra y Jennifer talk about their experience like single mothers

             "Our race is afraid that if they ask too much they will be put down".


- Alexandra says the low expectations of her community and of her parents didn't help.
  It's our race. Like my parents, they came from Mexico and they brought their thinking.
  Over there a lot of kids were expected to drop school and help their parents.


-Jennifer:  "that's why the teachers ignored her".
                   "They didn't even know I was there".
